Mending A Broken Heart

 Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted

And binds up their wounds.

Psalm 34:18

18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,

And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Psalm 46:1-2

1 God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear,

Even though the earth be removed,

And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Isaiah 43:18

18 “Do not remember the former things,

Nor consider the things of old.

John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Romans 5:8

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Revelation 21:4

4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

This has been a tough week.  I’m pouring my heart out a little here on this devotional today.  This week hasn’t just been emotionally trying for me though, but for so many of my friends like you.  From losing great friends, family, and broken relationships, the heart has really suffered hurt.  It’s usually at this point in my devotional that I begin to expound on Scripture.   It’s usually at this point that I try to put into my own words something that may bring comfort.  Today, I’m not.  Today, it’s more fitting as it always is for Scripture to speak for itself.  We have the promise that He will heal our broken hearts, that He is near to us, that He is our place of escape and protection, that He doesn’t remember the former things, that He leaves us peace, that He saves us, and that one day, He will wipe away every tear.

Be healed my friend in the Lord.
